Conversation Cards

🃏 Deep Questions for Couples

128 deep questions for couples in four sets: Past, Present, Future, and Fears. Pick one set, answer slowly, and let the conversation go where it wants.

Deep questions worth a real evening

Most conversations between people who live together stay on logistics: schedules, bills, what's for dinner. This deck is 128 deep questions for couples, split into Past, Present, Future, and Fears, and it exists to move you off logistics for a couple of hours. The questions are written to be answered slowly, not fired off, and none of them can be finished with a yes or a no.

How the four sets work

Past covers where someone came from and what shaped them. Present is about how life actually feels right now, including the parts that are quietly not working. Future is for plans, hopes, and the practical things couples put off discussing. Fears is the heaviest set, so save it for when you both have the energy for it. Pick one set per night rather than trying to cover all four.

A few ground rules

Both of you answer every card you draw. Listen without fixing, since most of these aren't problems to solve. Anyone can pass on a question without explaining why, and passing shouldn't be treated as an answer. If something lands hard, stop and stay there instead of drawing the next card.
