How the love calculator works
The calculator turns the letters of two names into a fixed number, which means the same pair of names always lands on the same percentage. It's built for fun, not for science.
Worth knowing before you run it five times in a row: the only thing driving that number is the spelling. Not your mood, not the date, not how the week has gone. Enter the same two names next month and you'll see the exact same figure on screen. So if the percentage comes out low, don't take it to heart. Take it as an excuse to argue about it with your friends instead.
What the number is based on
Every letter feeds into the same simple calculation, so the love test is consistent rather than random. Consistent is not the same as accurate, though. Treat the score as a conversation starter and nothing more.
How to play
Type in two names, read the result, and screenshot it if you want to share. Trying different versions of a name (a nickname, a middle name, a shortened form) usually kicks off a long debate, and running every pairing in a friend group is a whole evening of entertainment on its own.
