🐠 Fishbowl Game

Fishbowl for teams: 100 words across four categories, played in three rounds — describe, act, one word. Sixty seconds a turn.

How fishbowl works

Fishbowl is a party classic because it uses the same words three times and gets funnier each round. Split into two teams. In round one, the clue-giver describes the word using any words except the word itself. In round two, the same words come back but the clue-giver can only act them out, silently. In round three, the clue-giver gets exactly one word per card. By then everyone half-remembers the whole pool, so a single word can trigger a shout of recognition across the room.

The four categories

The 100 cards are split into Famous People, Objects, Actions, and Concepts, twenty-five each. Objects and Actions are the friendliest for mixed groups and children. Concepts are the hardest to mime and produce the best moments in round two. Pick one category for a short game, or run through all four for a full evening.

Rules worth agreeing on first

Sixty seconds per turn. No spelling, no rhyming, and no saying part of the word. A card you can't get can be skipped, but it goes back into the pool. Keep score across all three rounds and announce the total at the end.
