Everyone gets the same word except one player, who gets a word that looks almost exactly like it. Listen closely and find the imposter.
How to play Find the Imposter
One person becomes the dealer and sits the round out. They open the card, say the category out loud, and whisper the word to each player one at a time. One player gets the imposter word instead of the one everybody else has. Nobody knows who got the different word, and that includes the imposter.
How a round runs
Going around the circle, each player gives a single clue sentence about their word. The clue has to sit right in the middle: too obvious and the imposter coasts to safety, too vague and the table decides you are the imposter. After two full rounds of clues everyone votes, and whoever gets the most votes reveals their card.
Winning
If the player voted out is the imposter, the table wins. If not, the imposter wins. For a fairer version, give the imposter one last shot when they are caught: if they can name the real word, they still take the round. With more than six players, deal two imposters. Because they do not know each other, the whole thing gets a lot messier and a lot funnier.
