💣 Bomb Game
Bomb is hot potato with categories: the card names a topic, everyone shouts a different answer, and the phone flies around the table. Whoever is holding it when it goes off takes a small penalty.
How to play Bomb
Flip a card and whoever is holding the phone answers the category. On "name a car brand," you say Toyota and shove the phone at the person on your right. The next player has to come up with something nobody has said yet. Anyone who hesitates, repeats an answer, or wanders off-category loses the round. You can also set a fixed timer, in which case whoever is holding the phone when it runs out loses. That's where the name comes from: the bomb goes off in somebody's hands, and the penalty is theirs.
Why it moves so fast
The categories are all things everyone knows: fruits, cities, brands, jobs. The first few answers land in seconds, and the real tension starts on the third lap when the obvious answers are gone and somebody is staring at the ceiling. In a big group the pace snowballs on its own until the whole room is shouting. With 80 cards you'll never run out in a single night.
Choosing the penalty
Let the table decide together: take a sip of water, skip a turn, sing a few lines to the group, or do a ten-second impression. It has the energy of a drinking game but it is completely alcohol-free, so it works for any age group, including a party with kids at the table. Bomb is free, needs no sign-up, runs in your phone's browser, and requires no pen, paper, or physical cards.
