💍 Premarital Questions

100 premarital questions in four areas — Money, Family and Children, Daily Life, and Values. Serious, direct, and written to be answered honestly rather than correctly.

The conversations worth having before the wedding

Most couples talk about the wedding in far more detail than the marriage. This deck of 100 premarital questions is built to correct that. It's divided into four areas that quietly cause the most trouble later: Money, Family and Children, Daily Life, and Values. Twenty-five questions each, all direct, none of them designed to trap anyone or produce a right answer.

How to use it

Take one group per sitting rather than trying to do all four in an evening. Read a question out loud, let one person answer fully before the other responds, and resist the urge to negotiate on the spot. The goal of a first pass is information, not agreement. If a question produces a long silence, that's usually the most useful question in the set — mark it and come back to it another day.

What to do with disagreement

Finding a gap here is not a bad sign. A couple who discovers before the wedding that they picture children, money, or holidays differently is in a far better position than one who discovers it three years in. Some gaps are compromises, some are logistics, and a few are genuinely serious. Naming which is which is the actual work. If a topic keeps ending badly, that's a reasonable moment to bring in a counselor or someone you both trust — not a verdict on the relationship.
