Relationship Quizzes

⚖️ Avoidant or Anxious?

Do you tense up when someone gets close, or when they pull away? This 10-question quiz shows which side of the attachment map you stand on.

What does this quiz measure?

Under stress, close relationships pull out one of two classic reflexes: move toward, or move away. The anxious side tries to feel better by restoring closeness; the avoidant side tries to feel better by creating space. Both are attempts at the same thing, which is feeling safe. This short anxious or avoidant attachment quiz uses 10 everyday moments, like waiting on a text, arguing, or asking for space, to show which side you lean toward.

What to do with your result

The result is a snapshot of a tendency, not a personality label. The same person can come out balanced in a steady relationship and much more anxious in a shaky one. The most useful next step is sharing it with your partner and being able to say, "here's what I do when I'm stressed." Most arguments grow because the two reflexes set each other off: the closer one person moves, the further the other retreats. Naming that loop is the easiest way to slow it down.

Note

This quiz is for fun and self-awareness. It is not a diagnosis, psychological or medical, and it doesn't replace professional advice. If you're struggling with a pattern that keeps repeating, it may be worth talking to a mental health professional.
